Seattle Laurelhurst Fresh Start Bathroom Remodel

When you think of a guest bathroom, what comes to mind as the focal point of the space? For many, it’s the shower or tub. The space where cleansing and relaxation take place should undoubtedly be designed to fit the user’s needs and also look stunning. Our clients in beautiful Seattle Laurelhurst just off the shores of Lake Washington thought the same and wanted to outfit their basement bathroom with a modern and sleek shower to fit their Swedish Modern style.

Relocating and expanding the shower proved a much better use of the space than the corner stall that stood before. Creating a wall-to-wall glass stand-in shower elevated the bathroom and now provides enough room for multiple occupants and a variety of tasks. Moving the toilet and vanity to the same wall created a clear path of travel through the space and creates user privacy, where the toilet was formally facing the door. One modern design choice was to add an elongated shower niche, which is a great alternative to a shower caddy or having a disarray of shower products on the floor. A lack of natural light also required that the new bathroom be outfitted with a large, rectangular lighted vanity mirror to help welcome guests to the space.

Neutral colors proved to be anything but drab in this reimagined bathroom! Light grey floor tiles provide a concrete effect and set the foundation for light and dark accessories to pop. The sleek cabinetry boasts a smooth Pental Quartz countertop that subtly matches the floor below. Bold, matte black towel bars and door hardware create awe of sophistication, and a matching Delta showerhead unifies the room.
